East Central ISD is proud to announce Mrs. Margarita Lozano as the inaugural principal of Victory STEM Academy, opening in Fall 2026 to serve elementary students in the southern part of the district. With experience as a teacher, facilitator, and assistant principal, Mrs. Lozano brings a strong commitment to student success, staff development, and a positive school culture. A proud ECISD parent and dedicated leader, she is excited to build a team focused on excellence and ready to shape the future of Victory STEM Academy.
Hollie Helmke, East Central High School’s Class of 2025 Valedictorian, turned her childhood passion for engineering into a national victory. From building cardboard vending machines to leading her Electathon team to first place in a national electric car race, Hollie’s story shows how creativity and drive can lead to big wins.
The EC Softball Team made school history with their thrilling run to the UIL Class 6A Division I State Semifinals — the first time the program has advanced this far and the first time any ECHS team has reached this level in 28 years!
East Central ISD is proud to welcome Jaime Jaén as the new principal of Legacy Middle School. His leadership comes at a key moment as the campus begins its work as an Accelerating Campus Excellence school through a TEA grant.
The Texas Education Agency has released the 2023 A–F accountability ratings, based primarily on STAAR scores and other indicators. East Central ISD is taking strategic, student-centered actions to build on this data and ensure long-term academic growth.
Valor Middle School College and Career Preparatory Academy is a school of choice—any rising 6th grader can apply! Valor is also zoned for Tradition Elementary and Honor Elementary.
